Our two popular Crosswords for Kids apps each contains 25 crosswords, written
for kids aged around 8–12. These are not dumbed-down kiddie crosswords, but proper crosswords with proper
clues. They will run on your iOS device (iPhone, iPod, or iPad). There is a user guide here if you need help.
These crosswords are of the British 'quick crossword' style, with synonym/ definition clues.
They have an easier vocabulary and easier clues than our QuickBreak crosswords, and include some popular culture
clues (Adventure Time, My Little Pony, Simpsons, and so on). They are also appropriate for adults, especially those who
are learning English as a second language.
Crosswords For Kids is entirely customisable, so you can choose the grid, letter, background and
highlight colours, as well as choose from five different fonts.
There are also options for an auto zoom function, so you can zoom in on the grid, a timer, hints (type a ?), and
visual cues for incorrect letters. These features are especially helpful if you’re just learning how to solve
crosswords.

Perfect “elementary” crossword puzzles
I'm so incredibly pleased with this app!! First app I’ve ever reviewed, but since it didn't have many reviews I couldn’t let this GEM stay undiscovered!
My 6 year old son is elated! When he finished the first, and found put there were 25, he said, “I could be really busy!!!”
My 9 and 11 year olds were also entirely engaged.
I absolutely love that it’s in the same appearance and fashion as regular crossword puzzles, such as my NY Times, and so my kids feel like they're doing the real thing.
They really liked how the wrong letters appeared in red (although I believe you could change this?)
I'm so, so happy to find literally exactly what I was hoping for on the App Store!

Great for travelling
Two of my children (11 and 8) spent hours together during downtime travelling in Europe completing

Good app for slightly older kids
My 9 year old has become really interested in crosswords but a lot of the ‘kid’ crossword apps available are targeted
at younger users & are too easy. This one fits the bill exactly being a good mix of words that she can answer correctly
after having a bit of a think, easy ones and harder ones that challenge her & keep it interesting. — Blackeyes23
Smart fun for kids
My son loves having this on his iPod. It is a great entertainment for those boring moments waiting at the doctor’s
rooms, car journeys etc. The difficulty is pitched just right for 9 to 12 age group. It even tells you when you have put

Wonderful app
This is a great app for children to not only work crossword puzzles, but to learn the mechanics of working them —
previous words entered were incorrect, etc. Very well done and appropriate for youngsters. It is presented as a serious
crossword puzzle and not a cutesy childish little game, which immediately gives the child a leg-up on a life of
